Why volunteer?

Volunteering is about the skills and experience gained. Volunteering at SunnyCon has great value as you get to be a part of the event and see sides of it that attendees do not. There is access behind the scenes, and building great relationships with dealers, artists, guests, SunnyCon and St James’ staff as well as the attendees.

You gain experience that is applicable to your CV, and we will gladly give a reference if required. Customer service skills, time management, teamwork, and flexibility are developed over the weekend.

You do not have to pay to enter the event, and so get access to the convention without a ticket. You will get break times to enjoy the convention and we will try to accommodate any panels you wish to attend. You will have the opportunity to see the Trader’s Room and Artist Area in advance of the convention opening, so might be able to grab some good stuff!

Of course, it goes without saying that you can’t just volunteer for the free ticket and then pretend to be a regular attendee. We do require some help from you after all! There is a range of different roles to support us over the weekend.
